My question is how long would it take the water to warm up to the air tempertaure, in this situation.

Here in Cincinnait Ohio, today the high is 48, low is 29.
    Monday-high 58 low-39
    Tuesday-high 55 low-37
    Wednesday-high 62 low 38
    Thursday-high 66 low 47
    Friday-67 low 51
    Saturday-high 62 low 43

I guessing that by friday the water temp should be in 50's?

yes it will be in the 50"s by then, the temps are at 44 right now in the smaller rivers. the ohio is no doubt higher than that.

I think it might get warmer the deeper you go, if it doesn't I don't know why
Most fish go deep in the winter.

water is just like air if i remember correctly. warm water rises, cooler water falls. true the water will be warmest at the surface and along the banks, and near the banks in shallow water is where i find channels this early.

yes warmer water rises but thats not to big of a deal in a river since it get so stired up that normaly its pretty much the same all the way from the top to bottom. it might be close to 50 or low 50s it really depends, a warm rain durning the day would help greatly as a colder rain at night would hurt alot. water warms really slow but then again is cools really slow also.
