I have been reading about some of you using a fish trap for catfish bait. where do you set them at. I know from a bad memory you cant set them in a river. bad bad memory. that reminds me. about 30 years ago I was fishing a place and got a good bite. when I tried to pull the fish in it was almost impossible. when I finally got it in. it was a big bluegill which was still inside if a fish trap, and the trap had about twenty more bluegills in it. I mean nice size gills. needless to say I had a fish supper. I tried again and again over the next months to do the same thing, however the owner must have moved the trap. it was good while it lasted.
