How cold is too cold??

    well guys my wife and i are planning to go out and fish for a little while today and they say that its going to be in the mid 50's. is it still to cold? the water that is?

    fish still gotta eat so its not too cold. my pb was caught when water temp was around 50 degs (plus or minus) and that is when i did my best on lake waco.

    The lowest I seen the water temp's get in this area over the winter was 39 and the bite has stayed consistantly good all winter. The weather may get to cold for fisherman to venture out but the fish are still going to feed.

    Good Luck Rob. Fish for channels using cut bait for your best luck.

    Blues fishing is great in winter around here. The 50's, if the wind isn't blowing, and especially if the sun is out, is vomfortable for the fisherman and I always figure if I'm comfortable the fish are too.

    I have fished in colder weather...just remember any day you can wet a line is a good day.

    yeah matt i can't wait to get out and fish this summer with ya.
    we did not go out today. we need new licences and don't really have the bucks to get them. so we went to see her gramp's.
