Hiya! The state record here in Nebraska is 3lbs 14 oz set back in 1974. Bullheads dont get very big, but I do know first hand that they are very good to eat!

The state record in Missouri, and as far as I know, the world record is a 6lb6oz yellow bullhead caught this summer. Can't remember the lake off hand, but that's HUGE for a bullhead. 12" is pretty big.

I'll bet in prehistoric times, before Man started harvesting them, they were big enough to eat people.

Yeah, I was gonna say we catch black bullheads all the time and they are lucky to weigh in at around 6#'s, that is if you'r extremely lucky!

They may not get very big but if you can get enough of em, they make for a real good fish fry!

In Arkansas the state record black bullhead is 4 lbs, 12 ounces. I've caught a lot in my life but never over 1lb. grizzly

I used to carry a couple of rigged rods in my truck and stop by a lake on the way home from work. I don't think I ever caught one over 1.5 or 2 pounds. Sure made a good supper. BTW, that was in FL

Around here an honest one pounder is a real nice one, and rare.
