I got this pic a while ago, not sure where, but this is one MONSTER bluegil! Looks like it could be as big as a hubcap. I don't know anything about the pic, but I wish I did!

It would take a big flathead to get that thing in it's mouth..can you imagine casting it?

That would be the world record Bluegill. I think it was caught at Dale Hollow if I remember right. But I am not sure.

a friend of mine owns a fish farm/ pay lake, and last week, he caught a 3lb sunbelly, and it was huge, so i can only imagine how big this one must be.

It would take a giant flat head to go after that big boy. I bet it would take a pretty good size sionker just to keep him held in one spot.

I think this commercial fish farm is the one that genetically introduced what is called a "Georgia Giant" variety of hybrid Bluegills, supposedly my neighbor here in Ohio drove down and picked up some 2 years ago and has some 12" fish in his pond, ( or so he told me and no, he has not been very neighborly in asking me to come fish it eiether....) but when my pond gets done, he did offer to add some on his next order when he goes down to get some more.

Maybe in a few months Ill have all the 10-12" gills I can handle, that would be so awesome!! I think I need to wipe my mouth off now just thinking about it....

  18. Hey Aaron I think I would just have your neighbor skin it up and cook that freakin monster. Heck fillet it out and you could feed the town of brock for a day when no one is smokin.
