has anyone caught catfish using that
A lot of the Pond Cats will go for this bait. Ive used it in lakes with moderate success
I've used it on occasion when nothing else was working. Caught a few eating-size channels.
I use them to catch blue gill then use blues to catch cats
I've caught lots of fish on trotlines and limblines using cheap hotdogs. That's about all I use on them.
ive caught alot of bullheads and channels on hotdogs mostly in farm ponds
Iv'e never had an luck on hot dogs, but my neighbor caught some nice channels last week on them. Look at it this way if you use it and you get hungry I guess you can always eat them your self. Long as you keep them cool that is. Don't be eatin no spoiled dogs. Food Poison ain't no fun. Had it twice ,don't want it nomore.
We used to catch pond cats on hot dogs when we were kids. It would get fast and furious. I've baited trotlines before with hot dogs and had absolutely no luck, then turn around the same weekend and bait the same lines with shiners and tear em up. That's why I pretty much exclusively use shiners or small perch on my lines.
my second largest channel came out of my uncles pond on hotdog, first largest came on a shiner
i have had great success on hot dogs.
I'v had better luck with them than any prepared bait!
plus if the catfish don't bite you can eat the bait!!!oooh:
I have caught many in rivers on hot dogs, chipped ham is even better.
I've caught a few on them, nothing big though..
there an ok bullhead bait...but you catch that bullhead then catch that flattie lol
A little in ponds but not in the Altamaha river.
I've caught small channels on them. I used to cut them up & cover them in garlic salt.
A lot of folks use them down here on jug lines and do quite well. Have not heard of any monsters but I do hear of some good catchs. Even heard of one person who caught a 20 lb flathead on the things....but mostly Blues and Channels.
i have never used them but saw an old lady once at Lincoln Park in Kettering fish with them and absolutely slammed channels, never seen anything like it
Used them once in a pond and caught some nice channels.
The Picture on top of the page that D/H has was caught on a Hot dog..
He will not own up to it. but that is what I keep hearing they were using. But don't know if that was a red hot dog from a pack or a dog...
All kidding aside. If you use hot dogs get the small red ones. That ones that most people would not eat. They work best..
