    Hey,
I have two different sizes of hooks they are the Mustad ultra point 1/0 and 2/0.

My question is: are these big enough to use a small live bluegill or should i get a bigger size???

    Thanks
    Cody

Cody, for live bait I would use no smaller than a 6/0 circle or khale. If you can find a finer wire hook it may help them stay alive longer. But if you aint got the dough for new ones, go ahead and take lots of pics.

    Good luck, Dru

Cody, I would say No, a 1/0 or 2/0 circle will not be big enough for a live gill, I personally wouldn't use anything less than a 7/0 kahle or an 8/0 circle with a live gill for bait, but this is just my preference.

Where in WI are you fishing, I used to live there and still have family there. I use nothing smaller than 7/0 for all of my catfishing, 7/0 seems just the right size for cut bait, and I use 10/0 for live gills. All of my hooks are gamakatsu octopus hooks, IMHO best hooks for the money, especially if you can persuade your local tackle shop to order them for you in bulk, I think the last time I ordered them he got me 50 10/0 gama hooks for like $20.
