Hook size for hand sized bluegills???

    lately i've been usin hand sized gills for bait but my hooks dont seem to be the right size... if you were river fishin for big flats with big gills what size hook would you prolly use??? my 6/0 arent doin the job right at all:sad2:

    8/0 Gamakatsu Octopus circle, 9 or 10/0 Kahle, or a Gamakatsu 10/0 octopus. These are the hooks that I currently have in inventory and by no means the only kind or brands that could be used. I would not go with anything less than 8/0 in size.

    any idea where abouts i could find some that size??? i jus checked dick's sporting goods and walmart and neither one of them carry anything bigger than a 4/0....i'm prolly gonna check bass pro tmw though

    I agree with BAM and you will probably have to order them, if you want circles check ebay.

    You can order them from Catfishconnection.com. They have an on line catalog and I think all of the hooks suggestion are listed in their catalog. Be sure and look at the King Kahles. (8/0-10/0)
