hook question

    What is the smallest hook that i should use to fish for catfish in a pond? (the catfish range from 1 to 20 lbs)
    any help apreciated

    One that matches the size of the bait ya are gonna use allowin good hook point exposure.

    That will be determined by the size bait your using. The bigger the bait the bigger the hook. What your looking for is plenty of hook gap for the hook to set.

    I've caught cats from 1lb to 33.5lbs on a 2/0 hook. Now since I use larger live bait I rarely use less than a 5/0 or 6/0 hook and mainly use 8/0 hooks.
    They'll still catch the small ones. I've caught ones around a pound on the 8/0 hooks. Usually I'll match the hook size to the size and type of bait I'm using.

    4/0 circle and 2/0 J is small to me i wouldnt go smaller
