First off, this method might have already been posted, but if it hasn't, here it is.
I know many catfisherman have experimented with surgical tubing for dip tubes. I had the following idea while at Dollar General today and saw Pencil Grips.
I got 8 of them, in various colors, for $1.00.
A little work with a hole punch and there you have it.
I have enclosed pictures of my homemade dip tubes.
    Hope this helps someone.

That's a good idea you came up with there for the dip tubes. They sure are pretty,if that counts for anything. I've been making my own dip tubes out of surgical tubing for about the last 4 years, and they work good too.

I thought about something like that too, using some plastic tubing. I never did it cause I don't use that kind of bait, but it seems like a great idea. thanks for sharin

I finally got to use my homemade dip bait tubes in a big way today on the Arkansas river. I had 12 rods out with about 7 with the homemade dip tube and the rest with looper rigs. I caught 10 nice channel cats all on the dip tubes. It even seemed the red ones were the ones that worked the best, even though I think that was just coincidence.
I was using Secret 7 Dip Bait on all my rigs.
I found a pack of these pencil grips at WalMart. 20 for $2. I am stocked for a while.

Another good one is torn up tube baits. Cut the tails off and seal the bottom shut. Flatten it and Cut holes then flatten the opposite side and cut more holes. Take a treble hook and tie a heavy leader to it and using a darning needle run it up the center of the tube and your all set to go.

here is a pic of how I rig my homemade dip tubes. They worked even better on Sunday when I fished with Johnny/777. He and I boated over 50 channels and a few blues on the Ark River. He was using his own rig, but all of my fish were caught on the diptube. And ofcourse, we were using only one bait and one bait only..........SECRET 7. It is the best dip bait out there.
    Hope this helps

What were you dipping those tubes in? With numbers like that, you must have been using Secret 7????
    Glad those tubes worked.
