Going camping along the river this weekend - probably sunday to tuesday or something. I've never made a chum before so this'll be my first attempt.

So far my plan is to take a 2 liter bottle and add:
    1 can of tuna fish.
2 cups of dry dog food
1 cup of dry cat food (scraps!)
5 big spoons of minced garlic
    - any funky leftovers I can find in the fridge

When I get there I'll burn some small holes in the bottle, tie it to a tree and toss it in the water. Should be there around 3 PM. Plenty of time for that scent to roll down stream a few miles before dark.

My recipe sound OK? I'm hunting channels - I dunno if they even have flathead or blues in the potomac river?!

I'm not sure how well it worked to be honest.

We fished about 6 hours and caught 3 cats and a bullhead. Two cats were about 2-3 lbs and 1 was 5.5 lbs. The bullhead got off before I could unhook him myself - lucky for him :006:

I dont think the conditions were optimal though. The water was low; only about 2-3 feet deep and it had been a rather hot day.
