I was wondering what the walleye forecast was this year? I have never fished Hillsdale but I have heard that it gives Wilson Lake a run for its money when it come to wallete fishing. I have fished Wilson Lake a few times but am looing for a walleye lake closer to home. Any insight guys? Thanks Kyle:cool2:

My ranking at walleye fishing is less than a neophyte and have only caught three legal size eyes while crappie fishing there.

My best time while specifically fishing for eyes there was catching 25 walleyes with the largest at 17 3/4 inches. :sad2: I was fishing on Hillsdale point dragging worm spinners around the point along with umteem other folks fishing for eyes.

The lake does have some nice eyes and you can see them when the KDWP sets nets for the spawning eyes and watch them milk the eyes at the Jayhawker ramp. The lake does have some nice eyes.

A lot of the regular crappie fishermen at Hillsdale that I talk to report catching legal eyes through out the year.

    Good luck.

I couldnt fish at a lake with that many eyes watching me.:eek:oooh::smile2::wink:
    I like my privacy.:embarassed::smile2:
Seems like the walleye fishin is like that at alot of places. I dont fish for them but most of the people that I know that do always talk about how many they catch before they catch one big enough to keep.:sad2:
I still might try it someday, but the kitties have my heart.:smile2:

The last two years I've had pretty good luck at Woodson Co.So far all of them I've caught have been legal.Even had a game warden standing there and measure one when I caught it.

Seems I have a talent for catching 17 and 1/2 inch walleyes in lakes with
an 18 inch minimum length. Had to put back at least ten over the years
when I'd jump the gun in March and drag a worm or two across the dam
face. It's a conspiracy. Them walleyes just like to give me that toothy
grin as they fin off into the depths again. They don't seem to give me
many second chances in later years either. Sure taste good when they
    are 20 inchers.

Well, the wife and I went out yesterday to Hillsdale. The only thing we caught was a wind burn!:cool2: It was the first time that I was on the lake and pick a windy day at that. We saw a few fish boats out but do not think anyone was catching anything. We tried minnows and even the "Banjo Minnow". :tounge_out: Even tho we did not catch anything, we will be back in late March during the spawn. FYI we have a red Lowe Stinger 175. Kyle:cool2:

Hey Lee I hear you've been clobbering the crappie over at Melvern. You're playing possum on us you probably catch a whole bunch of walleyes just don't wanna brag about it. When you gonna take me out and give me a crappie lesson.I'm not a moocher I'll pay for gas and bait. I promise I will put you on 50 to 75 of my pet channel cats down there at Pleasonton once it warms up. But you gotta let the big ones [over 10 lbs.] go of course.

Went out to hillsdale this wkend, not even a bite. Throwing crappie jigs up by the dam and around the boat ramp on the east side of the lake. Granted, I'm completely new to crappie fishing, and never fished that lake much, but from what the locals were sayin no one has been doin much good, crappie or walleye.

Anyone know that lake well? Suggestions on places for crappie and/or walleye?

I'm plannin on hitting the timber areas on the northeast side in a few weeks once the crappie move back in there.

I haave heard that the dam in late march and early april for eyes, and there are literaly hundreds of planted crappie beds, I will look around and see if I can find the list of GPS data. I fish Hillsdale more than anyplace(it's close), but it's usually for them kitties.

Here are the ones I have from the KDWP. I don't think any of them are near the dam. After previewing it looks like they didn't copy exactly in the format from my word document but all the info is there.

We recently completed installation of additional fish attractors in the Marysville area. Listed below are the GPS coordinates for all fish attractors constructed to date. For those of you who have all of the coordinates except the newest, bp36 to bp49 are the coordinates for the newly constructed attractors. The following coordinates are in the decimal degrees format and the map datum used was NAD83. So be sure to have your GPS units set up using the above coordinate system and map datum or the coordinates in the table will put you in some other location other than Hillsdale. I will not leave this coordinate list up permanently so be sure to copy the coordinates sooner than later. Good Luck!

I have been catching walleye at hillsdale for the past week. Get your waders out wade in to about waist high and start throwing #13 rapala husky jerks and you will get into them. I usually get out there about 9:30pm and throw till midnight. Got 5 keepers in the last three days. Good luck:big_smile_2:
