I received this in an e-mail. Thought I would share it...

This is an actual emergency room photo of a fisherman who
lost control of his high-speed bass boat in XXXXXXXXX.

Police believe that he was traveling at a speed of
approximately 75 mph at the time of the accident.

He was unable to negotiate a curve in the narrow waterway.

Unfortunately for him, upon striking the shoreline and being ejected from the boat, he landed back end first on an old fence post.

You can probably picture what happened next, but the
attached picture really says it all.

The good news is that after about 6 months, this man made a full recovery after suffering a shattered hip, broken leg, several broken ribs, internal injuries and soft tissue damage.

Doctors credi! ted his recovery to the fact that the post
lodged itself so tightly that there was little or no blood
    loss.

    Now that's got to hurt!!!

Running 75mph on the water is like running 150mph on the Interstate. Actually, I'd feel safer running 150 on the Interstate than I would on the water at 75. I was in a bass boat once when it was running about 50, and I really wanted out of the boat.

I have a Skeeter that runs that fast. I opened it up once. Scared me. You have to look for stuff in the water, other boats, jet skies and so on. Takes awhile to slow down too.

Come on man 55 ain't that fast my boat runs really well at that speed and not very well at 30. It will go 75 but it gets a little squirelly.Gotta be smart about it though.I saw a couple guys at Truman hit a log going 60.They didn't get hurt but it ripped the motor off of the transom. It was a 250 horse mercury and it was just hangin from the gas lines and the steering cables. $20,000 motor hangin' submerged behind the boat. They motored off with their foot control trolling motor like nothin happened. It's the jet skis that really irritate me though.

Every Sat morning if I am on the river there is a group of bass fisherman that seem to think they can run the river at those speeds. I have had them run right over my lines, and almost had one run up on the bank at about 60 mph. They are out of thier minds.
