Alright guys, the Mississippi river here is still under flood stage, but just by a few feet. I'm gonna be heading out saturday for my first trip of the year and was wondering what most of yall concentrate on during high water. My boat's a 17' GIII bass boat, and I really don't want to take the chance of fishing over submerged dykes unless I'm in something a little bigger. What other areas seem to work out well in high water? Thinking of finding deep holes in chutes out of the channel and trying logpiles in some of the bigger drainage ditches that empty into the river.

    Anybody have ideas???

My grandpa fished commercially most of his life and SWORE by fishing the flooded willows. Especially in the springtime. Hope ya find em, wherever they may be.
