how can you tell the difference? :confused2:
skips have a bigger turned up crappie mouth, while a shad has a big ol nose and small mouth. there's pics in the library.

Skipjack are sometimes erroneously called hickory shad; real hickory shad look a lot like gizzard shad but are only found along the east coast from Maine to upper Florida. Skipjack look (and fight) like baby tarpon.
