Just wondering who got out yet and what kind of luck you're having...been out a couple times here on Lake Winnebago once and Little Lake Butte Des Morts once but didn't have any luck...couple sheephead and a small carp and one really big hit that I rushed due to beginning of the season anxiety and lost lol.
Lots bigger than what I was catching yesterday morning. I caught 9 between 16 & 22". The "flowage-in-between" in Stevens Point is a numbers location, not size. But I like going there when I wanna catch something for sure. Are you fishing the river? Lake Wausau?
I got out on Saturday and fished solely for flatheads for the first time ever. Had lots of live bait and a good friend with me. We fished for hours at a couple different spots different depths and different bait presentations. Than about 2:30am. Boom first flathead cat I ever landed! It was awesome! We caught 2 flatheads and one big channel. Unfortunately I have a new obsession! I won't stop chasing monster channels but I think the flats are going to get more of my attention now!
I've caught several smaller flatties up to 8# incedently while fishing for channels but nothing intentional yet. Bunch of places to try over on the Wolf river but I would need a boat to get to them.Someday...
My Bad. Though there are flatheads in the wolf, the best areas are from Fremont to New London. The Berlin area, the old lock and dam to Eureka dam is actually the Fox River. Sorry about that. Berlin is in the north-east corner of Green Lake county
