Does anyone know if this exists and is this place as good to fish as I've been told.I heard that a guide with the initials K.D. has a lot of springtime success there and has had some monsters get away there but I dont even know if a herring lift exists.I know the water is shallow in that area so it makes me think that there is some truth to all the stories I've heard.

Richie, there is a fish lift at St Stephen http://www.dnr.sc.gov/fish/fishlift/fishlift.html
and there can be some pretty good fishing there when the current is flowing during the shad and herring season during march and april. Access is at Arrowhead Campground and landing about 3 miles below the dam.

The flats are a great place to fish in april. I have caught many blues there in april, this is one of my prime locations when i fish santee in the spring. I see lots of guides in the area during april so give it a try.
