Here's a rod I built recently

    My brother-in-law is deploying shortly to the med and asked me to build him a rod for fishing off of the fantail of ship. Thought I'd post up a couple of pics for anyone that might be interested.

    Bluecathunter - you know you can get plenty of help here when you decide to give it a shot. The biggest challenge is wading through the list of components to decide what to use.

    Tackleman, this rod is setup conventional. I like the spiral wrap for my own purposes but it's hard to generate interest from anybody that's not particularly serious about squeezing out every bit of performance available.

    Here's a "low quality" pic of a Spiral:

    I've got another rod in the hopper that'll be spiral wrapped. I'll post some pics when it's done.
