The hail storm Sunday wiped out the seats in my bass boat. Upholstery shop said the hail seperated the vinly from the threads. Anyhow, the seats are shot. I have looked on the internet at different seats and most are all fold down which would work. Problem is that the ruined seat bottoms are held down by velcro to the base and the base is screwed into the body of the boat. All of the seats that I can find, I see no way to mount them to the boat as the bottoms aren't removable.

The only way I can figure to do it is get some channel iron ([ ]) cut to the length I need and drill in some holes on the bottom and use lag bolts to mount to the boat and drill some holes in the top and do the same thing mounting the seat to the channel iron.

Anyone else out there got any better ideas? Appreciate any help.

Chuck, can you post a picture of your seats. It is hard to visualize what your talking about. I'm sure help is just a few keystrokes away, once we know how to help.
