Buddy of mine caught this hog this past weekend. He said he got it out of the ninnescah using a bank line. He seems to think it's a blue, but I find it hard to believe a blue of this size (22 lbs) would be pulled out of that river, unless it made its way up from Kaw Lake or something like that.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Not meaning to go against the grain here but I think its a blue. Kinda hard to tell I guess but I say a blue.

could be wrong but the 3rd picture favors it

A dominate forked tail and the anal fin is not the anal fin of a blue with is sharp and straight. I beg the differ and I will say that is a channel for sure.

Where's the curve to the anal fin and I must be blind because I see no dominate forked tail. I do see a nice hump behind the head that blues have.......

Hey Rob...by the way what kind of fish is that in your avatar picture?

I believe the way to tell the difference between a blue and channel is by the anal fin the blue should have between 27 to 29 bones or spines and the channel should have 29 to 32 looks like a blut to me

    Thanks for the input all.
The only reason I didn't think it was a blue was because of the river it came out of. How much of a fluke is that to have that size of a blue come out of the ninnescah? Granted I've never fished that river, but its been my understanding that that river and most rivers (sans the kaw) in KS dont hold a lot of blue cats.
