Help!!! Broken chrysler motor

    i have a mid 70 100 hp motor and last time i went out i was running 1/2 throtle and it just shut off,no cought or sputter just will crank but no fire,i'm thinking electrical,does any body know how to check a coil?and is the magneto just used to charge the system or does it supply some power to the coil for spark

    The magneto/Stator, suplies voltage to a power pack that distributes it to the proper coil to fire when It's supposed to., Another part of the stator charges the battery.

    If your sure your not getting spark on any cyl, then it's beyond the coils. Pwer pack, or stator, or even some poorly grounded componants will do it.

    remove the spark plugs, connect a plug wire to a spark plug and hold to a ground with an insulated set of pliers. Crank the engine and look for spark at the plug.

    Do this to all of them to verify total or partial loss of fire.

    Get help doing it.
