Helgramites

    I cant find them any more but when I was a kid bout 35-40 years ago helgramites was my favorite, caught a lot of fish and the skin was so tough that they would stay on the hook for 2-3 fish! I found them under flat rocks in swift water of the wabash river, but pick them up wrong and they would make you very,very sorry! If anyone knows where you can find them these days, I would appreciate knowing where they hide these days, would go far to get a mess of them to freeze for this years fishing

    i caught them under rocks in streams when i was a kid. they were an awesome bait in the creeks.

    take a willow branch down river, flip rocks in the creeks... work your way down the stream and they will latch on to the willow branches... lift the branches and there ya go!

    We always had to start downstream and work our way up because of the mud factor, that willow stick sounds like a novel idea , be trying it soon! Thanx
