I have a 16' Tracker, which has a bass boat style casting deck aft. I am planning a rod holder rack that would go across the back of the boat and drop into 30 degree flush mount rod holders. I plan to build it so that the horizontal bar will be as far aft as possible, to maximize the mount of available deck space. How tall should I make the horizontal part? It would take 24" to clear the outboard. I'm thinking 30" or so, maybe 36". Does this sound about right?

I figure that the hortizontal bar will be about 60" long, giving me room for five Monster Rod Holders.

i fish a 17.6 triton my post are 32 inches high and it is just right to get a loaded rod from here are a few picts hope this helps
