heddon reels

    I recently acquired a heddon 409 levelwind reel. does anyone know of a part source for these older reels?:confused2:

    Boy, you got your work cut out for you. Try some of the repair shops you can find on the net. Once the older less than popular reels go out of production parts and schematics get scarce. That does not mean it's impossible. Just have to persevere.

    I figured as much, it seems I am just a sucker for a challenge,love the quality and craftmanship of older fishing tackle.:roll_eyes:

    I suspect that when you start talking about Heddon, Bronson, JC Higgins and many of the old baitcasting reels you are into "Vintage" stuff. Not sure where you get parts except to search the internet. You may be able to pick up a junker for parts.

    I did come across one on eBay. Bidding stops Aug-26-08 17:35:00 PDT (2 days 9 hours).

    thanks Darrel, I love the vintage reels with metal gears and adjustable drags, I keep an eye on e-bay also.:big_smile:
