I fish for Carp in an extremly flat, sharp, rocky river. Been useing 8# test but one run aross the rocks has caused me lost fish. Would clear 12-15 lbs. test mono. line be too thick and spook carp or make them drop baits ? -Thanks

Kyron4, While in Germany, I initially used 12/15/18lb. Big Game mono and it NEVER failed to catch fish. Once I changed to Braided lines, I didn,t notiice a difference in the catch rate. Carp do become accustomed to line when they are caught numerous times. I do not think that the fish here in the USA will get to be LINE Shy anytime soon. There are too many fish and not enough fisherman to have them become so at this stage of the game. JMHO!!!!!!!!!!!!
