Hi, I'm heading to Greer SC tomorrow for a few days and have a couple questions. Am I correct in assuming an out of state 10 day license is $10.00? If so, good deal :)

Also, looking for advise on where to fish around Greer for some cats, I don't mind pay lakes, I don't mind anything as long as there's whiskers involved... Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Mike

    I don't know the area, but ...

Licenses are available on line now, or any WalMart or tackle shop will have them. $10 sounds about right.

You might look on line for the SCDNR managed lakes and see if there are any in the area. They all have cats in them. Otherwise, I'd look for water and drop in a line. You might try pulling up the area on Google Earth and see if anything looks good.

I hope a local will jump in and give you some better advice. Good luck!

Oh, you can burn through a few pointless posts pretty quick...

I happened to be looking license prices (mine expired last night) and it turns out that the temporary non-resident license is $11.

Cannon's Lake used to be the place to go in the Greer area to catfish. Any of the locals should be able to direct you. There was also a great lake in the Cross Anchor area named Pine Ridge (or Pineyside) where they caught some real brutes in the past. Might be worth asking around. Good Luck!
