Haw River

    Anyone ever fished the haw river? its in alamance county if im not misremembering its down road from my great grandparents house in saxaphahaw some lil town named after indians. lots of rocks didnt know if it had any big flattys in it

    naw there aint no flats in the haw just mudcats and carp

    well actually..i lived in mebane about 9 years and had a coworker that had some land on the upper side of the dam at saxapaw.....we went down there with a tube of crickets one day in daylight and caught a mess load of little flatties! i was shocked!........we were fishing right across from the old dixie yarns plant down that little trail about 75 yards..........of course......you can rule out from fishing from a boat in that area.......way too many rocks..........:big_smile:

    there are there just now in force right now.....give it a few years.....several big ones(37 lbs) caught near glenco...............mack
