I went out last night to fish the high water and did really well with numbers but no monsters. The craziest thing happened though... I hooked into one that ended up breaking my line ( guess my line was frayed earlier on a rock :sad2:). Anyway, 2 hours later my buddy caught the same flathead, with my 8/0 circle, leader, swivel, and bait still attached! I couldn't believe the little bugger was still that aggressive! Turned out to be a 9 pounder, first he hit a 8 inch chub then a 5 inch green sunfish.

I,ve retrieved some of my tackle that way quite a few times.I also had a few times where I pulled one in with both of my lines in his mouth!

  5. That happened to me Saturday, but I didn't get my tackle back:angry:.

I'll be looking for that SOB the end of this week with freshened up knots, new 8/0's , and a bucket full of frisky morsels:wink:

Back to the point though, I have never recaught a lost fish/tackle:confused2:. Sounds pretty cool though:roll_eyes:.

I have caught them with hooks in them before. But I don't think they were mine.

it must be nice to get you tackle back again. but you can tell your friend that you helped catch him cause you tired him out some before he got him..haha:smile2:

I has happened to me, but not 2 hours later. Try 5 minutes later! The darn thing ignored being hooked already and ate another offering thrown in the same area. Hook and leader still attached.

I have also fished a spot where friends said they "gotten broken off" the previous night before only to hook and catch the same fish which had thiere hook and leader in it.

My line got snagged once. Thing was the rod was under about 15 to 20 feet of water and a huge carp was still attached to the hook. Glad I stayed and didn't go home. Guy was right down from me and came walking up with my rod. The reel handle was bent and the rod tip screwed up but still have both. The reel still works great and that's something considering that the bottom there is nothing but rock. Testiment to ABU reels.

other night was fishing 2 lines no bites... my girlfriend got a bite and hooked one she starts dragging it in. When she got it in i realized she just pulled in a fish that ate my bait with my bright red hook in its mouth still. Her sinkers were gone for some reason and her braid was horribly snarled around my mono... made me wonder a little bit
