I fish Harris Lake just about every weekend now, started out as just something to do but now I'm learning more about the lake and how/where to catch em. Bad thing is I've got no boat, which means shorefishing's all I get to do. I can usually manage to pull out a couple in the 5-6 pound range per day, using large minnows, I gave up on chicken liver cause the little mudcats eat that up before anything else. Anybody had any bigger luck out there from the shore? I wanted to hit the southern part of the lake near the dam, but when I went down that way found that everything is private property. It's nice catching those 5 pounders, but I want the big one!

Ive never fished it but try catching some bream and perch, crappie and using that for bait, cut and alive. Your bite may slow down but your fish will most like be larger. I fish Badin and if I use minnows I catch the same thing you are.

Bigger bait....bigger fish. Don't forget the bigger hooks.

I'd be fishing below the dam.
