Well I got better and on Wed went to Wal-Mart for a few things, had some time to kill before goin to work so I strolled over to th sporting goods section and low an behold to my surprize I see that zebco has a new rod an reel combo. 7' med/hvy "HAWG SEEKER"

I hit th wrong button before and wasnt finished.

I couldnt believe my eyes, a 7' md/hvy rod from Zebco?! not to mention 1 w/an electronic bite sensor u can adjust. th rod glows from th 2nd eye up, and only cost $40. So I bought 1. Gonna try it out here in a whole min. If it incresases my hook sets and fish in th boat then I will invest in more of these beauties. Well just thought I'd let ya know what I found. figure if u do alot of night fishing on th bank or from a boat it doesnt matter, these beauties will probly help out alot, so no more buying those annoying lil glow in th dark sticks w/bell attatched to th tip of u rod. Just hope th rod can hadle a 50#'er.

Hey Thumper...Happy Birthday. Thanks for the info on the new rods at wal-mart. One of my favorite rods was a Zebco 8' oceanside series. It had plenty of backbone and landed me many big stripers in the 40 lbs. range. I dont have it any longer... some a-hole took it from my boat several yrs. ago. I would like to find another one ...but don't remember where to get them. My memory seems to be the one thing that gets away evertime....LOL:cool2:

Happy Birthday and congrats on the new rod/reel combo. I took a look at them the other day at Wal Mart. I really like the triangle handle, the large/heavy clip for your weight/hook, and the color on the end of the poll.
Not sure about the bite alarm but real world reviews would be helpful. I messed with several and some seemed to work but a couple had to have the sensitivity cranked to alarm. I may pick up a couple for the kids and wife, they need all the help they can get watching polls.:smile2:

Did you get the spinning or the spin cast?

    Thanks
    David

Happy belated birthday Keith! Sorry to hear you were sick that day, but sounds as if you might've found the right medicine. We'll be looking forward to your report on the Zebco.

    Happy belated birthday, Keith!

I bought my son one of those, a couple years ago, for his birthday. He was so thrilled, he hasn't even used it yet. He's not much of a fisherman. Think I'll try it out this spring, as it's never been used.
