Guess? how old baitcaster?

    It is hard to put a age in the reel , it is vary much like one I got in the early 1950s. You have a nice keepsake.

    Andrew regardless of the age, it's defintely a keeper.Does it have a medal Rod Attached to it? I couldn't tell from the picture? I would guess it in the early 50s. I'm not an expert.

    It looks like the Striker manufactured in 1926 by Ocean City Mfg in Philadelphia. Here is a link.

    Striker. The Striker came out in 1926 and was the 2nd baitcaster in the lineup. It was the first level winding reel produced by Ocean City. It was also a tube frame, with Bakelite end plates. This reel is not very common and a good OC collectible.

    After looking more closely it may be a later design. I didn't notice the teardrop shape.

    ive wanted an old baitcasting reel since i got the cabelas 06 master fishing catalog with the old fishing gear on it. i think itd be cool to make some sort of shelf with some old fishing reels and lures and such on it with a replica mount over it.

    Is Ocean City reels, some like Penn reels?
