My brother-in-law is trying to catch a ground hog with a live trap. It is under a rental house. What would be a good bait?

Have him get some hardware cloth & build a "shroud" from the hole into the front of the trap....that way the hog only has 1 route to take.

Might try potatoes of turnips if you want to try a bait.

I have always heard broccilli. Also see if it is legal to put a snare on the hole. If it is not you can ask DNR for a depredation permit.

boy if the ground hog is under the ground, dont try and use bait. just find the holes that he is digging and set a 220 connibear trap for it. if you cant get ahold of a 220, ill send you one so you can use it. just pm me and ill send it to yea. one thing about that, since trappin season is out, just use it as long as you need and send it back cuz i will need it for my new starting small trap line. thanks and just pm me if you need to use one
