Griffey gone to the sox.......

    any opinions on this trade............... imo he will be better off in the a.l. and the reds will be better off withoout him..........

    i think he will make a great fit there. the sox did a good job on that one for sure.

    I like the trade! I think the sox could use his skills in the post season.

    Everyone knows Griff is past his prime, on the field. But you can't look past the possibility that having a future "Hall of Famer" in the clubhouse could really bring focus and drive to a team heading down the stretch and into the playoffs. I believe his experience and professionalism could really set a tone for the younger players.

    Sure he is past his prime, that is why he became "available", but I think he still has gas in the tank and like you said his professionalism will be a good exemple for the young guys.
