Green Sunfish with black bars

    Starting this spring, we've caught 3 fish that are more or less Green Sunfish with 2 thick or 4 thin black bars on their sides. The largest fish had the 2 thick bars and the fish had a dark, purplish hue.

    Maybe they feel they are in prison in my pond? We've also got black crappie, bluegill, possibly largemouth & smallmouth, and walleye. Not everything I stock seems to make it, or get eaten by a couple of bluecat.

    Water, after lots of grass planting, is fairly clear, and no bottom feeders. Central Missouri.

    :confused2: What are these? I'm even afraid to put my ugly feet in the water, as the green sunfish seem to mate with anything! (sarcasm)

    i have the same fish in both my stock tanks, in the river here in waco, and in lake waco.
    i think they are a hybrid of sorts but i cant prove anything
