we went to green river yesterday,(saturday) in hope of crappie. we started at white oak creek, yes a creek, caught maybe 15 between 3 of us at about 10 foot deep. then the bite stopped so we went to casey creek, started nailing em on jigs and minnows in about 4- 10 foot of water. We were also not in a boat but on the bank and still catching more than the people in the boats that passed us by, with some being in the 11 - 14 inch range. So even though the fish are in 20 foot of water near bottom in the lake, i guess they are still suspended in the creeks, yet we cant get any in the river. go figure. Most of the crappi seem to be smaller this year at green river, but you can still catch more than your limit in a days time if you dont overlook shallow trees as well as the deep ones. we also spend lots of time putting cover out ourselves during the summer though, so its not that hard to find. Try looking at the banks for trees that have been cut, but are nowhere in sight, you can bet they are in the water close by. Happy Fishing!!!!!!!!
