Fella at the bait shop tossed me a couple dozen of these today and that what he called em. The little thingy comein out the end of it will latch on to ya and stay. LOL! Can anyone shed any lite on them for me? He also said that they will die quick in fresh water. Brackish water that I fish alot is just fine for em. Told not to hook em through the head cause thats instant death. Just once through the skin and you'll be fine. All I know is they are gonna get tested this week. LOL! THANX!

It may be a type of sand worm. They live in brackish and salt water.

looks similar to a blood worm i saw on dirty jobs. the head will come out and it has four teeth that will sink in your skin and hold on while it sucks you blood. Google discovery channel, dirty jobs, blood worms and watch video. might not be them but sounds close.

i was going to say that they looked kinda like the blood worms i used to use when fishing in the Chesapeake bay. I'd really like to find out what they are.
