I just talked with my ODWC biologist buddy who oversees Salt Plains Lake. He reported to me that after setting 600 feet of nets to check the impact of this summers die off, the net only held a few gizzard shad. No cats and no rough fish. There may be a few fish left, but the Wildlife dept is starting to stock what channel cats they have on hand in the lake. I am sure that more will be stocked in the coming years, but for now the lake is dead. It will be a minimum of 4-5 years before the fishing will begin to pick up. Dont waste your time and gas going there.

Man, that's awful. Hate to see such a good fishery go like that. Thanks for the update.
