Great Miami River Flathead Catfish

    I was thinking about getting out tonight to the GMR wondering if anyone had been catching any flatheads in the cold weather? what baits are they hitting on? Thanks for any info

    creek chubs are my fav. this time of year on the muskingum. or any other smaller slender baits. i have been catching them on cut shad as well.. shouldn't be much different on that river. goodluck, rollo

    Josh, you can fish durring the day now. Its always cloudy, the water is cold, and the fish just seem to bite better with the small bit of warmth they get from the sun. If you are catching fish at night they should be even more active in the daytime. Plus they will stay in that hole all winter, and you can catch a few every time till spring.
