Went out today for a couple of hours this afternoon. Now that the river is down to about normal pool I was able to try out another spot fishing from the bank I found. I had a few runs and misses and landed a small channel cat about 2lbs on a bluegill head. And landed a 23lbs 4oz flathead on a live shinner about 4" long. I only fished from about 1pm to 4pm. All fish were released to fight another day. Looks like I might have to give this spot a shot after dark in the near future.

that doesn't suprise me though. the last few years we have been catching more flatheads during the daytime. esp. early in the year in logjams. but, i have to say congrats to you beetle. that was a great fish, and im sure you enjoyed catching him! you can't catch em from the couch!!!
