I took the temperature of the Grand River May 6th, and it was 61 degrees. Not very muddy either, though the rain may chanage that.
    Won't be long...

My in-laws caught two flatheads last night near Ionia.

Last week my brother caught and released a 35" 21 lb flathead from the area of Riverside Park south of I-96. Anyone else ever fish this area or the area around Whitecaps Stadium. We are looking for some good channel cat areas to catch and release some pigs. Thanks.

That's a good stretch of river. There are holes & runs all over, and log jams around some of the bridge abutments. The only place to launch (if you plan to fish past sunset) is at the southernmost ramp at Riverside Park just north of Ann Street.
Water temp should be near 70 by now, and the fish should be feeding.
    Good luck!

Just got back from vacation. I caught this guy out of the Grand River using cutbait. It went 34.25" and 16 lbs. 6 ozs. We also cut 3 Channels from 13" - 18".
