is it legal to hunt grackles in Collin county TX?? there a real pain in the butt
Check the State agencies thread placed on the Texas cat fishing forum. You should be able to find the number for the local municipality. Ask them.
* Grackles should not be a protected species, but definitely check with them on this and how you are allowed to take them, especially if it is in a residential area.. You might be limited to deterrents..
Yellow-headed, red-winged, rusty, or Brewer's blackbirds and all grackles, cowbirds (does not include cattle egret), crows, or magpies may be controlled without a federal or state depredation permit when found committing or about to commit depredations on ornamental or shade trees, agricultural crops, livestock, or wildlife, or when concentrated in numbers and in a manner that constitutes a health hazard or other nuisance. yep says right there that i could hunt them considering the "health hazard" they pose. and they land in out trees all the time..
