I traveled to the patomac river in Maryland/Virginia last weekend and participated in my 1st catfish tournament:big_smile:. I arrived fri night. Despite the threat of alot of raine, it turned out to be a good night.I caught 6 blue cats 5 of witch were over 20#. My new PB blue is 32#:smile2:.I got skunked in the tournament Sat night but my partener kept us in it with 5 fish.We didnt place for a payout but it was still a great experience. Since the warm water discharge at brunner Island is no more I know where to go to get a winter cat fix.Just thought Id share

What happened to the warm water discharge at Brunner Island? I used to catch many a smallmouth in the dead of winter there. Interesting place.

They installed cooling towers to eliminate drastic water temp. changes and fish kills . I 'm not positive about all the details but, a guy I work with has a relative that works there and he told me that the towers are completed and operateing

I enjoyed it alot:smile2:.Im a humble yet very competitive individual. The tournament trail is just being established this year in PA and will be better next year.I fully intend on fishing all of them. It would be cool to fish a few on the patomic too.The MD chapter is much more established

were you guys drifting or anchoring on spots or both? how different was it for ya fishing wise targeting blues instead of flatheads?
