got some bank sinkers today

    10 for a 1.50 sounded like a good deal to me. i think i read on here they reduce snags. did i read right?

    I make my own bank sinkers. The molds are cheap and the lead is usually free. The rivers I fish are real rocky so they tend to snag a lot. I use them at the end of the line and attach them with rubber bands and put the hook above them. If they get hung between the rocks the rubber band will break but I still have the rest of my rig.
    In places with a muddy or sandy bottom they work great.

    .15 each aint bad depending on size , what oz you get ? i prefer 5oz but i fish heavy current . and yes sometimes they still hang but thats expected aswell

    I also mold my own slip sinkers, but the mold I bought wasnt cheap ($40.00), but some of the rivers I fish are snaggy and the mold will certainly pay for itself. good luck and good fishing:cool2:
