I just got my boat. It's party time!

    1997 Lund 17' bass boat
    1998 Johnson 9.9
    Fish Finder
    Trolling motor
    am/fm/cassette
nice livewell & tons of storage
    4 seats
    trailer
    tauneau cover

I'm jazzed. It needs a little work (water pump & maybe tires on the trailer) and a good cleaning and it is good to go!

Eric nice boat and it reminds me of my Fisher Grey Thunder bass boat.Don't want to start nothing but I am curious as to why a 9.9hp engine on a boat that size.It would seem to me that you are going to be under powered and I bet it wont be long before you are looking for more HP.I dont think that will plane the boat out but could be wrong.I know you bought it as is with no choice in the matter.:smile2:

I can probably answer that Jim. Most good bass lakes here in Ohio have a 9.9 limit on boat motors. Evidently it was purchased by a basser that had a favorite lake. Just a guess.:smile2:

jim and jack you are both right. It was bought from a bass man who only fished the local lakes. I already want more engine so I will be comfortable on the Ohio River catfishing (it is only a 2 min drive from my house to a ramp). But one thing at a time. This is my first boat and now I have to replentish the savings before any other big purchases...that is, unless you want to donate a nice big motor!!! (its rated for 90HP).

It's nice to see a practical fishing boat that doesn't have a refrigerater size outboard on the back. Not everyone needs to go 50 mph from one fishing hole to the next.
