Got my first fish

    went to the great miami river with my new rod and reel... the ugly stick
    was fishing at obergising formerly dravo felt a tug like a bass wasn't a bass
    was a drum. caught it on a night crawler

    Drum make good Flathead bait. Hook them in the tail with a 8 or 10/o hook, and a 4 or 5 OZ sinker to hold him down and toss em back out there.

    thanks guys... my girlfriend was hold my pole she's the one who felt the
    tug.. i said it was the current it wasn't set the hook he flopped like a bass
    she looked on line and you can eat the drum.. i hope i can catch a
    flathead next trip

    Like, first ever? Congrats!

    I can't remember a time when I did not fish and I guess I just mistakenly assume everybody grew up that way. Or at least picked it up when they were teenagers.

    Seems like we might need a BOC "First Time Fishin Buddy" program so we can break in some of these rookies and teach 'em right.

    no prob.. with the temps 90 does kinda make it hard to fish....
    it was three weeks for me hopefully i can go again soon
    this time a smallie or large mouth
