Mellon found a deal on ebay, these abu's the new 6600 ext are selling alot of places for 179 bucks.

Well he got several of them for 69 bucks each, and sold me one. they are a little bit different than other abu round baitcasters as these have a one piece aluminum frame.

They also have 6 ball bearings, gear ratio of 4.7 to 1.

I really like the reel, for the price...No way would I pay 179 for it

Smooth looking reel, Is it setup with baitclicker like the others? Kinda looks like a rounded baitcaster for bass fishing.. Definetely sharp looking though.. rollo

yes jason it has a clicker, the clicker is on the side like a 7000, the reel is the same size as a standard 6500, as it holds 245 yds of 14-lb test.

But I agree it does look kinda like a bass reel. definatly something different to try out.

heres a pic of the clicker, it also has dual cast control, it has the knob under the reel handle like all abus, plus a magnetic cast controll on the side as you can see.

Heres a couple more pics, again I really like the reel, it is by far the smoothest reel I have even more smooth than the abu record reels I have, but I would not pay 179 bucks like the are selling for most places.

I know my friend Roger is drolling over this as he is still waiting for his new 6500 to arive.:smile2:

Roger does not know it but this makes the 5th new abu I have bought this year.

I dont have two dimes to rub together, and broke as hell...But I can always find the cash somehow for new abu's:smile2:

But with this economy, this may be the last reel I buy in a long time:sad2:

Yes JD, it has the carbon matrix drag, since I have used the carbon matrix drag, I can really apreaciate how much stronger and smoother the drag is.

Nice reel Jack. Congrats bro. You did'nt strike me as a bass fisherman. lol... Since you use cut bait, you can catch us up a bunch of big bass for bait. You know we'll all appreciate it. Serious though, fine lookin' reel brother. Let us know how it works...

They have solid looking frames. How is the seat mounted? Is it screwed to the frame? They look like they'll take the abuse a serious flathead hunter will dish out..
