Well thanks for everyone who gave me great ideas on all the tips for night fishing. We filled out on 3-5 lb channel catfish during the day and we had a great 4th catfish feed. I went into town bought some goldeye and bullheads for night fishing and was raring to go. We went to town to watch the fireworks and came back ready to fish and guess what. The raccoons were eating all my bait fish a long story short there was no bait left and there was no night fishing. Good thing I had bud light. I didnt plan ahead for the raccoons.

they surely are pesky critters, another thing is when your nite fishing watch your stringer if you have fish on it because they have been known to rob you if they get a chance.

If the coons don't get ya, the turtles will. Find a tight lid for your bait bucket!
Hope the coons don't figger out the latch. They eat my bread when they
raid my camp. Makes me want to take my dog camping with me, but she's
a wussy and would probably get beat up and tied into a pretzel.

Racoons have to be one of the smartest creatures around. When I was a kid my family went on a fishing trip to Roaring River, we had one of those old Coleman coolers with a turn latch full of trout and the darn coons figured out how to open the thing and robbed us blind in the middle of the night!

Ask BOC member "shelbygt1979" about his experience with a raccoon sneaking up on him in the dark. The guy has been on edge and paranoid ever since.:smile2:
