What are some good baitcasters that are on the cheaper side and perform well? I've only ever used the Abu Garcia Ambassaduer baitcasters.
congrats you wont be dissappointed, throw some braid or mon on their and she's set. Also in reference to your rod's the Cabela's King Kat is a nice rod also. I dont personally own any but 2 of my buddies have 30+ between the two and we have reeled in fish up to 70LBs plus on them and never had one fail. 8' MH $24.99 from Cabela'sThanks! I checked out the reels and the reviews along with yours and I was so convinced that I went ahead and bought the cl60!
I had been looking at the Okuma's and Shakespeare Arsenals but those Ming Yang CL70 baitcasters sure do look nice. I wonder if there is a way to make the clicker louder? That is the main reason I have steered away from Okuma, the clicker is just too quiet, but Shakespeare and Abu both have a nice loud clicker.
How loud is a Ming Yang clicker compared to the Shakespeare and Abu? I hate to buy a reel blind but have seen good reviews on them and they are tons cheaper than Abu and comparable to Shakespeare.
those would match perfect. It would be hard to match up anything with the HD and CL70 without spending twice the money. My next option would be the Penn 320GT2, which is better than both but they're $90 each ouch, I have 2 of them. If you are really good casting baitcasters the 209 and 309 at $54 are very stout reels but they arent very forgiving if you havent mastered casting. Thanks for the info Ramon, I'm either going with the Arsenal HD or the Ming Yang CL70 on my next couple of rods, going to pick up a couple 10 foot American Spirit Nite Stik Pro rods and think those reels would be a decently priced match.
Just to add, Over the last week, I've caught at-least a dozen flatheads, including 2 over 40lbs on a Cl60a.Thanks! I checked out the reels and the reviews along with yours and I was so convinced that I went ahead and bought the cl60!
