Goldfish or not to goldfish?

    :eek:oooh:Going to sit out some noodles at the lake o the pines. Wondering if goldfish are a safe bet for big cat fish?:confused2:

    Well if you cant or dont know how to throw a cast net then Id say ..yeah alot of folks like using them

    they work, but shad and bream are free!

    Like alot of people here already said, the bream are free, but I personally like using them, they stay alive a long time on a hook, and will put a lot of comotion in the water, I would say they are a pretty safe bet.

    Well im back from lake o the pines .Got 8 catfish but no monster cat. The goldfish didnt work so i went to wallmart and got a cast net used shad to catch the catfish.Oh and 3 jack fish

    Used goldfish(and they worked) when it was too hot to go catch bluegill, of which i like to be in the 4-6in. range, hookem thru the eyes while still alive. for me this works very well and is a lot more fun to catch then bait than to go buy it!:big_smile: Rivermedic

    I've always thought the opposite. I think a wild green sunfish or gill fights more when used as bait. I wonder if the flash from the color of a goldfish is an attractant?
