I know some of you guys in the midwest use goldeyes. I want your opinions on it. This one guide in Kansas, ran to my side when I landed one white bass fishing. He said "that is one heck of a cat bait". We used it later that night, but only caught some small blues. What lures are best to catch them with. I caught a few with a curly-tail grub and a spoon. Thanks.

for white bass anything that looks like sahd are minnows. when they are running you could use just about anything they are not that picky. I like to throw a Little George for them because its a versitle bait that you can cast a mile are almost finesse fish

okay thanks for the reply. A white bass and goldeye are different. They aren't a gamefish, they're a baitfish.

I use goldeye for bait. I like it a lot better than I like shad!

I catch them on the Mississippi River with a castnet but you can use jigs and stuff for them.
